Marijuana has been illegal until now, but it is actually said to be less harmful than alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco, which we use legally.

In the following, we will introduce the dangers and safety of marijuana by comparing them.

Contents

  • 1 Marijuana vs Cigarettes
  • 2 Marijuana VS Alcohol
  • 3 Marijuana vs caffeine

Marijuana vs Cigarettes

When looking at the damage that smoking (the act of inhaling smoke) causes to the lungs, it can be said that cigarettes are far more harmful than marijuana.

First of all, the biggest reason why cigarettes are considered dangerous is the risk of lung cancer. In fact, 400,000 people die of lung cancer in the United States every year. It has been reported that 80-90% of them are cigarette smokers.

In contrast, there have been no lung cancer deaths from smoking marijuana at this point. On the contrary, marijuana is expected to suppress cancer cells and is attracting attention in the field of cancer treatment.

However, regardless of marijuana, it is not recommended to burn the leaves and inhale the smoke directly. The smoke itself is hot and can cause damage to the bronchial tubes and lungs. The smoke also draws out active oxygen in the body, increasing the risk of cancer cells and other diseases. Furthermore, smoking also poses a risk to the people around you for secondhand smoke. Even when using marijuana as a substitute for tobacco, it is important to choose a safe product.

Marijuana VS Alcohol

The biggest risk of excessive alcohol intake is the burden on the liver. When alcohol is taken into the body, it is broken down and digested by the liver. However, if you continue to consume more than the permissible limit on a daily basis, your liver will become exhausted and the risk of developing lung cancer will increase, and toxins will continue to accumulate in your body, causing various disorders.

Another major risk is dependency.

According to research by the NIAAA (National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism), about 7% of the U.S. population over the age of 18 has a drinking-related disorder. And 8.1 million of those people have been diagnosed as alcoholics.

In contrast, while marijuana has psychological dependence, physical dependence is said to be lower than that of alcohol or tobacco. In addition, cannabis is used in homeopathy to provide palliative care for dependence.

Marijuana vs caffeine

Caffeine is found in coffee and energy drinks, and it stimulates the central nervous system to create a state of excitement. Many people take caffeine when they want to relieve drowsiness, improve concentration, or when they feel anxious. However, in recent years, the dangers of dependence and addiction have begun to be seen as a problem, and in particular, it is said to cause sleep disorders and increased heartbeat.

Marijuana ingredients are believed to have the effect of increasing concentration and can be used as a substitute for caffeine. In addition, cannabinoid ingredients such as CBD, which improve the body’s fundamental functions, can also help with sleep disorders and stabilize the heartbeat.

Finally.

In this article, I have compared the dangers of marijuana to cigarettes, alcohol, and caffeine. It is clear that marijuana, which is actually used in the medical field, has different effects than other luxury items. Please refer to it and try to incorporate it into your life.
